We write practical, jargon-free guides to keeping everyday online accounts in order — passwords, logins, shared family accounts and the small habits that protect them.
Who we are
netharborguide.com is operated by netharborguide.com, a small independent publisher based in Vilnius, Lithuania. The name reflects what we try to offer: a calm, safe harbour of plain explanations in a subject that is often made to sound more frightening than it needs to be. We do not build the software we write about, and we are not a security consultancy.
What we publish
Our guides look at the ordinary friction of digital life: accounts piling up over the years, passwords recycled because remembering dozens is unrealistic, logins passed around by text message, and inboxes filling up with reset links and verification codes.
Every guide is written to be read in a single sitting by someone without a technical background. Where there is something you can check or change for free today, we say so clearly, so you can weigh up the idea before spending any money.
How the site is funded
Reading this site costs nothing, and we do not sell subscriptions. We are funded by advertising and affiliate partnerships with software companies. If a page recommends a product and you sign up or buy through one of our links, we may earn a commission. The price you pay stays the same.
That relationship is disclosed on every page that carries a recommendation and is explained in full in our Advertising Disclaimer. Paid advertorials are labelled as such at the top of the page.
Our editorial position. Commercial partnerships influence which products we are able to feature, and we are open about that. They do not change how we describe the underlying problem: our explanations are written to be useful whether or not you ever install anything.
Principles we stick to
- We explain what a password manager generally does. We never claim to have checked your accounts or to know anything about your personal security.
- We do not publish invented statistics, official-sounding scores or endorsements that were never given. Reader comments shown on our pages are illustrative.
- We are honest about limits: a tool helps, but a strong master password and two-factor authentication remain your responsibility.
- We are independent of the vendors we write about. Their product names and trademarks belong to them.

If something on this site is outdated, unclear or wrong, please let us know and we will put it right. Email info@netharborguide.com or use the form on our Contact page. We are unable to provide technical support for third-party apps — the vendor's own support team is the right place for that.
